Productions

Our producing work is inspired by connections between artists and venues, and provides a catalyst for innovative, experimental and sometimes provocative work.  An essential ingredient for us is a sense of place and time - producing work that is rooted in a moment, a location, or a specific community of interest.

Jenny is a co-founder and co-producer of Yorkshire's new work showcase event, Hatch, working with Jean McEwan (Pop Up) and Alissa Juvan (Fabric) to provide a platform for new work and emerging artists working in time-based media, including live art, film and music.

Jenny has also produced numerous events and festivals, including Bradford Pride 2009 and 2010 and co-founding Grey Sheep Productions to produce 'The Baa Ha Club' cabaret from 2003-2006.

Performance

Jenny is a professional performing artist, having set up her own performance company, Immadjen, in her early career, as well as working as a performer, producer and stage manager for other companies.

She has always been interested in creating work that pushes the boundaries of different forms and contexts.  Recent work has explored gender identity and she now performs regularly as Mysti Valentine (see below) and presents experimental performance pieces for one-off events.

Recent appearances include:
Mother's Ruin (Green Room, Manchester), Bimbotown (Leipzig, Germany), Drag Ball (Royal Opera House, London), Cabaret Heaven (various Yorkshire venues), Bradford Playhouse.

Mysti Valentine

Jenny regularly presents professional performances as Mysti Valentine - an 'uber-female', glamorous glitzy mess of a woman.
What makes Mysti Valentine different is that she is a female drag queen. You may have seen drag kings’, women impersonating men, and in America so-called ‘faux queens’ aren’t that unusual – Anna Matronic of ‘Scissor Sisters’ fame has been quoted referring to herself as a ‘drag queen trapped inside a woman’s body’ - but in the UK there are only a handful of women who dare to perform as drag queens. Like London-based ‘Holestar’, Mysti Valentine would prefer you to think of her as a ‘drag goddess’, more than a woman, and more than a drag queen.
