Jenny is currently taking on the interim role of Associate Director at Chol (Huddersfield), supporting the company through an exciting development period and supporting Chol's Artistic Producer to develop partnerships.
Much of Jenny's current work is in circus, leading a consortium of Yorkshire based partners in an exciting northern circus development programme (watch this space) and working as Associate Producer with Stumble danceCircus as they create their new 'bipolar circus' show, Box of Frogs, to tour as part of the 2012 Cultural Olympiad.
Jenny is also a practicing artist, performing regularly as ‘Mysti Valentine’.
Other current and recent projects include: Producing Bradford Pride festival 2011; an organisational and membership review of Audiences NI (Belfast); fund-raising and marketing for Stumble danceCircus' innovative production 'Bipolar Ringmaster (without a circus)'; R&D for a major sand sculpture with Sand In Your Eye; and working with Oriental Arts (Bradford) toward a heritage project exploring the impact of South Asian arts.
From 2007-9, Jenny was the freelance Development Director for Network (now Audiences UK), the UK’s audience development organisation with 12 regional audience development agencies as its members. She also led their Audience Data UK programme. Her work has seen the organisation through a significant period of development, including authoring a new Business Plan and securing substantial funding from ACE to appoint a new full-time Chief Executive.
Throughout 2008, Jenny led Bradford Playhouse through a period of crisis and change, shaping a new direction after the organisation had gone into Administration and putting the plans and resources in place to sustain a new direction. In 2008-9, as temporary Creative Director she had lead responsibility for programming and for audience development. Although the venue has subsequently struggled to succeed in very challenging circumstances, locally and nationally the work Jenny did provided a positive way forward in the short-medium term.
She was previously Arts & Festivals Development Manager at Bradford Council, where she was responsible for the development and implementation of District-wide plans for arts and festivals. She continues to provide annual visitor research at Bradford Mela and was the Producer of Bradford Pride festival in 2009.
From 1999-2002 she worked for Audiences Yorkshire managing their South Asian Arts audience development programme, Arts Exchange. |
